The Addis Ababa City Administration Finance Office conducted a recognition and award ceremony to evaluate the nine-month performance report of the 2016 fiscal year. The event, attended by leaders from sub-cities and districts, emphasized the importance of following up on audit findings and taking necessary actions at every level. Mr. Abdulkadir Redwan, the head of the finance office, highlighted the need to focus on remaining tasks and ensure that budgetary support reaches all necessary areas. Ato Shimelis Demse, Director of the Planning and Budget Directorate, presented detailed tasks and objectives achieved during the implementation phase, including financial performance monitoring and support for civil society organization projects. The presentation included reports on sustainable income generation, monthly account closures, arrears reduction, and financial transparency initiatives. The audit findings were emphasized by Mr. Yosef Tale, the deputy head of the office, who stressed the importance of addressing these findings to recover government resources effectively. Additionally, Mr. Bel Moges presented the six-month evaluation report of 2016, emphasizing result-oriented evaluation and support for institutions with lower performance levels. The ceremony concluded with the recognition and awarding of the top three performing institutions, highlighting their contributions to the city's fiscal performance and accountability.
